The three new collections, in separate pattern books, for June 2010 include stunning animal-skin patterned velvets, cool Jacquard weaves and a simply fabulous collection of brightly coloured hand-woven silks.
Serengeti Three Jacquard woven velvets with fashionable animal-skin designs. Meet your new pets: Debra the Zebra, Monty the python and Felix the Leopard. All three come in 6 matching colourways, including black, racey red and cool taupe. They are woven from 75% viscose and 25% polyester yarns with the surface pile being 100% viscose. This gives a superb lustre to the fabrics providing both elegance when used as drapery and durability for upholstery. With a specification including a resistance to abrasion of 40.000 Martindale rubs, these fabrics are ideal for all domestic and ‘severe’ contract applications.
Chartwell Three flat-woven Jacquard weaves for curtains, domestic upholstery and soft furnishings. Whilst all three designs have a subtle simplicity, the finely woven viscose and cotton yarns and the gentle colourations have been cleverly combined to make these fabrics appeal to a wide audience. The ecru and green colours appertain to a classic English Style, whilst the deep reds and blues bring contrast and depth. Honesty is a small leaf design, Priorwood a large leaf and Pergola a matching stripe.
Discovery CDynamic colours, subtle textures and the sheer beauty of silk. Using responsibly sourced, traditional craft skills in Southern India, these fabulous fabrics have been hand-woven and finished to a full 135 cm width in a palette of textures and colours to meet the stringent demands of the Swaffer Design Studio. All dye-stuffs meet current UK and EU regulations and all five qualities contain nothing other than 100% silk.
Intended for all soft furnishing and drapery applications these fabrics will ‘make’ any decorative scheme, either on their own or when combined with any other fabric in the Swaffer Collection.
